Aparneet Mann and Gurpreet  Singh receive Sohan Qadri and Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi Fellowships worth Rupees two lakhs each by Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi

Addressing a press conference at its Sector 16 office at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Diwan Manna, well known artist and President, Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi, announced that the Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi had introduced Fellowships for the first time in 2017 with the Sohan Qadri Fellowship of Rs. 2,00,000/-, and has increased the number of fellowships to two this year.

Announcing the names of the recipients of  Sohan Qadri Fellowship and Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi Fellowships, Manna introduced artists Mr. Gurpreet Singh from Bhattian near Khanna and Ms. Aparneet Mann from Chandigarh,  who have been selected after one to one interviews by Shri Sudarshan Shetty, internationally renowned artist and curator of Kochi Muziris Biennale 2016 and Shri Bose Krishnamachari, renowned artist and Founder Chairman, Kochi Muziris Biennale.

.Interview process involved going through the portfolios of the artists, looking at the original art works and knowing about the artistic, intellectual and craftsmanship skills of the artists. 24 artists from Punjab and Chandigarh applied for this Fellowship.

In order to contribute to society, fellowship holders will conduct  two art workshops each at a primary/middle/high school  or in a college at thier native placea or a nearby place in Punjab/ Chandigarh or at a place chosen by the Akademi.

Aparneet Mann’s discipline is multimedia. Her recent body of work explores video, drawings and sound. She works with arcylics charcoal and has also explored sculpture as well as photography based work. She has done her BFA from Kala Bhavana,Visva-Bharati, Shantiniketan 2010, MFA from Government College of Art 2012, Chandigarh and is a Certification holder from Museum of Modern Art in New York (MOMA), Coursera Art and Activit : Interactive Strategies for engaging with Art in the year 2015.

Gurpreet Singh’s artistic practice revolves around his experiences of the rural life in Punjab. He works mostly with charcoal, pencil and ink on paper. is a BFA 2016 and has given his MFA final year exams from Govt. College of Art Chandigarh.

This is the second time Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi has given Fellowship to promote and recognise talented artists of the State of Punjab.

 The fellowships are aimed at providing talented artists a platform to continue their research to develop new ideas in their respective disciplines.

In its efforts to provide better facilities, platform and opportunities to the artists of the region,  Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi is coming up with innovative ideas that would create an amiable environment for the development of arts and help sustain creativity. The Akademi is engaging with the art fraternity and art lovers at various levels to bring about a whiff of fresh air that would change the way we perceive, consume and relate to art.

One of the the Fellowships is being sponsored by Sohan Qadri Foundation. Qadri was a well known artist of Punjabi origin having strong connections with his motherland. He received his art education from Government College of Art, Chandigarh and had many friends in Punjab. His daughter Mrs. Purvi Qadri, who lives in Canada, has sponsored this Fellowship at the initiative of Diwan Manna, artist and President Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi.

The second fellowship is being given by the Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi from its own grant.

The Fellowships are given to an artist between the age of 30 to 50 years. Artists from various streams such as drawing/ painting/mix media / installations / photography / graphics-print making & sculpture applied for these Fellowships.

Artists Residing and or employed in Punjab and Chandigarh, were eligible for the fellowship. Selected artists would get rupees two lakh each as fellowship during a period of one year.

2 ਲੱਖ ਰੁਪਏ (ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ) ਦੀਆਂ ਫੈਲੋਸ਼ਿਪਾਂ 2 ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ

ਅੱਜ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਕਾਨਫ਼ਰੰਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਲਿਤ ਕਲਾ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਫੈਲੋਸ਼ਿਪਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਅੱਜ ਸੈਕਟਰ 16 ਸਥਿਤ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਕਲਾ ਭਵਨ ਵਿਖੇ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰੈਸ ਕਾਨਫ਼ਰੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬਧਨ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਪ੍ਰੱਸਿਧ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਲਿਤ ਕਲਾ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ, ਦੀਵਾਨ ਮਾਨਾ ਨੇ ਐਲਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਲਿਤ ਕਲਾ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਨੇ 2017 ਵਿਚ ਫੈਲੋਸ਼ਿਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਇਸੇ ਲੜੀ ਤਹਿਤ 2019ਦੀਆਂ ਫੈਲੋਸ਼ਿਪਾਂ ਲਈ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ 2 ਹੁਨਰਮੰਦ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

ਫੈਲੋਸ਼ਿਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ 2,00,000/- ( 2 ਲੱਖ ) ਰੁਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਫੈਲੋਸ਼ਿਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਇਮਰੀ/ਮਿਡਲ/ਹਾਈ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਦੋ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਕਲਾ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕਰਨਗੇ।

ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਖੰਨੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਭੱਟੀਆਂ ਕਲਾਂ ਪਿੰਡ ਤੋਂ ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਸਿਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਕੇ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਕੌਲੇਜ ਓਫ ਆਰਟ ਤੋਂ ਬੀ ਐੱਫ ਏ ਦੀ ਡਿਗਰੀ ਹਾਸਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਐੱਮ ਐੱਫ ਏ ਫਾਈਨਲ ਦਾ ਇਮਤਿਹਾਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਦਾ ਇੰਤਜ਼ਾਰ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ. ਇਹ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਲਾਸਾਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਅਦਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪਾਂ ਕਰਵਾ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਦੇ ਖਰਚੇ ਖੁਦ ਹੀ ਉਠਾਉਂਦੇ ਨੇ. ਗੁਰਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਦੇ ਕਲਾ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਵਿਚ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਚਾਰਕੋਲ ਅਤੇ ਸਲੇਟੀ ਨਾਲ ਕਾਗਜ਼ ਤੇ ਬਣਾਏ ਰੇਖਾ ਚਿੱਤਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ.

ਅਪਰਨੀਤ ਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਕਲਾ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਵਿਚ ਮਲਟੀ ਮੀਡਿਆ, ਰੇਖਾ ਚਿੱਤਰਕਾਰੀ, ਧ੍ਵਨੀਆਂ, ਵੀਡੀਓ ਇਤਿਆਦਿ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਮੂਲੀਅਤ ਹੈ . ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਬੀ ਐੱਫ ਏ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀਨਿਕੇਤਨ ਅਤੇ ਐੱਮ ਐੱਫ ਏ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਕੌਲੇਜ ਓਫ ਆਰਟ ਤੋਂ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮਿਊਜ਼ੀਅਮ ਓਫ ਮਾਡਰਨ ਆਰਟ, ਨਿਊ ਯਾਰ੍ਕ ਤੋਂ ਸਰਟੀਫਿਕੇਟ ਵੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ. ਇਹ ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚਲੇ ਸਟੂਡੀਓ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਕਲਾ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਕੂਲ ਵਿਚ ਕਲਾ ਅਧਿਆਪਨ ਦਾ ਕੰਮ ਵੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਨੇ.

ਉਹ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਖਾਰਣ ਲਈ ਨਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰੋਯਗ, ਸੰਵਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਦਾਨ-ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਗੇ।ਇਸ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਦਾ ਮਕਸਦ ਕਲਾਤਮਕ ਗਹਿਰਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਬੌਧਿਕਤਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ਼ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨਾਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਮਕਾਲੀ ਕਲਾਕਾਰੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਤਾਜ਼ਾ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਕਸਿਤ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ। ਫੈਲੋਸ਼ਿਪ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਕਲਾਕ੍ਰਿਤਾਂ ਕਲਾ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਰਖੂ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਲਈ ਦਿਖਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਲਿਤ ਕਲਾ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਹ ਫੈਲੋਸ਼ਿਪਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਫੈਲੋਸ਼ਿਪ ਦੇ ਜੇਤੂਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮਾਨਾ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਬੋਸ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਮਚਾਰੀ, ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ, ਕੋਚੀ ਮੂਜ਼ੀਰਿਸ ਬੀਏਨਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਸ਼ੈੱਟੀ, ਕਲਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਕ, ਕੋਚੀ ਮੂਜ਼ੀਰਿਸ ਬੀਏਨਾਲੇ 2016 ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰੇਂਡੀਪਿਟੀ ਆਰਟਸ ਫੈਸਟੀਵਲ, ਗੋਆ 2019 ਦੇ ਪੈਨਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕਲਾ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਡ-ਆਕਾਰੀ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਨੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਤਜਰਬਾ ਸੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਫੈਲੋਸ਼ਿਪ ਲਈ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਜਾਂ ਨਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ।

ਇੰਟਰਵਿਯੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਵਿਚ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਦੇ ਪੋਰਟਫੋਲੀਓ ਦੇਖਣਾ, ਅਸਲ ਕਲਾਕ੍ਰਿਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਕਲਾਤਮਕ, ਬੌਧਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਾਤਮਕ ਹੁਰਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸੀ। ਕੁੱਲ 24 ਬਿਨੈਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ 17 ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰਇੰਟਰਵਿਯੂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ।

ਇਹ ਫੈਲੋਸ਼ਿਪ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਲਿਤ ਕਲਾ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਖਿੱਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ, ਪਾਸਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਲਈਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਉਪਰਾਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ।

ਇਹ ਫੈਲੋਸ਼ਿਪਾਂ 30 ਤੋਂ 50 ਸਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਉਭਰਦੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ ।

ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਫੈਲੋਸ਼ਿਪਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਕਸਦ ਹੁਨਰਮੰਦ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਚ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਖੇਤਰਾਂ ਅੰਦਰ ਖੋਜ ਅਤੇ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਫੈਲੋਸ਼ਿਪਾਂ ਡਰਾਇੰਗ, ਗ੍ਰਫ਼ਿਕਸ/ਪ੍ਰਿੰਟ ਮੇਕਿੰਗ, ਚਿੱਤਰਕਾਰੀ, ਮਲਟੀਮੀਡੀਆ, ਫ਼ੋਟੋਗ੍ਰਾਫ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਸਟਾਲੇਸ਼ਨ ਆਦਿ ਲਈ ਹਨ। ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਦਾ ਅਭਿਆਸੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਫੈਲੋਸ਼ਿਪਾਂ ਦੀ ਇਹ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਲਿਤ ਕਲਾ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਖਿੱਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ,  ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਜਾਰੀ ਉਪਰਾਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ। ਖਿੱਤੇ ਦੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ, ਮੰਚ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਉਪਲੱਬਧ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਲਿਤ ਕਲਾ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਨਿਵੇਕਲੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਲਿਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਕਲਾ ਦੀ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਲਈ ਲੋੜੀਂਦਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਸਿਰਜਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਜਣਾਤਮਕਾ ਨੂੰ ਸਦੀਵੀਂ ਜਿਉਂਦੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋਣਗੇ।ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਕਈ ਪੱਧਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਲਾ ਖੇਤਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਹਿਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਆਂ ਨਾਲਸੰਵਾਦ ਰਚ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਜਿਸ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਏ ਨਾਲ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਤਸੱਵਰ ਕਰਦੇ, ਮਾਣਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਿਆ ਮਹਿਸੂਸ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਦਲਣ ਲਈ ਕਲਾ ਦੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਹਵਾ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਤਾਜ਼ਾ ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹਾ ਲਿਆਉਂਦਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।
