Chandigarh-10 April,Punjab Llalit Kala Alademi invites applications for Sohan Qadri Fellowship for an artist between 30 and 50 years in various streams such as drawing/ painting/mix media / installations / photography / graphics-print making & sculpture.
Artists Residing and or employed in Punjab and Chandigarh, are eligible for the fellowship. Selected artist would get rupees two lakhs as fellowship during a period of one year. The fellowship is aimed at providing talented artists a platform to continue their research to develop new ideas in their respective disciplines.

And the Akademi office in Punjab Kala Bhawan, Rose Garden, Sector 16 B, Chandigarh.
The last date for the submission of application forms is before 4.00 pm 16th April 2017 at the Akademi office, Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16 B, Chandigarh.
The Fellowship is being sponsored by Sohan Qadri Foundation. Qadri was a well known artist of Punjabi origin who lived in Copenhagen and Toronto.
Sohan Qadri was born in the Punjab, in the village of Chachoki near Jalandhar. He received his art education from Government College of Art Chandigarh and had many friends in Punjab and Chandigarh.
His daughter Purvi Qadri has very kindly sponsored this fellowship so that an artist of Punjab gets an opportunity to explore possibilities and expand his/her vision to contribute in the field of visual arts.
