Pearls from Batalvi’s life

The Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi will hold an exhibition of Shiv Kumar Batalvi’s photographs, starting August 4. The exhibition will open at the Galleries of Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi, Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector 16 B, Chandigarh, from 5.30 pm onwards. Shiv Kumar’s friend and contemporary literary figure Mohan Bhandari, along with some other friends, will share their memories at the time of the opening. The photographs have been collected by artist and president of Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi,  Diwan Manna, from various individuals and institutions, including London-based Punjabi poet Amarjit Chandan, Shiv Kumar’s nephew Rajiv Batalvi, who lives in his ancestral house in Batala,  Beeba Balwant, Punjab Digital Library, Harbhajan Bajwa, nephew of Shiv Kumar and more.On display will be 50 images. (The exhibition will remain open till August 14 daily from 11.00 am to 7.00 pm)
