ਵਜੀਫ਼ਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਰ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ 1,20,000 (ਇਕ ਲੱਖ 20 ਹਜ਼ਾਰ) ਰੁਪਏ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇਗਾ।

ਵਜੀਫ਼ਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ, ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਰੈਜ਼ੀਡੈਂਸੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਣਗੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਵਿਚ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਖਾਰਣ ਲਈ ਨਵੇਂ ਪ੍ਰੋਯਗ, ਸੰਵਾਦ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਚਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਦਾਨ-ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨਗੇ। ਇਸ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਦਾ ਮਕਸਦ ਕਲਾਤਮਕ ਗਹਿਰਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਬੌਧਿਕਤਾ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ਼ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਮਕਾਲੀ ਕਲਾਕਾਰੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਤਾਜ਼ਾ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਕਸਿਤ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ। ਇਹ ਰੈਜ਼ੀਡੈਂਸੀ ਇਕ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹੇ ਸਟੂਡਿਉ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਅਖ਼ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰ ਲਵੇਗੀ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਵਜੀਫ਼ਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬਣਾਈਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਕਲਾਕ੍ਰਿਤਾਂ ਕਲਾ-ਪ੍ਰੇਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਰਖੂ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਲਈ ਦਿਖਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।

ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਲਿਤ ਕਲਾ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਹ ਵਜੀਫ਼ਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਐਲਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਵਜੀਫ਼ੇ ਦੇ ਜੇਤੂਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਾਣ-ਪਛਾਣ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਦੀਵਾਨ ਮਾਨਾ, ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਲਿਤ ਕਲਾ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਕੌਮਾਂਤਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਬੋਸ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨਮਚਾਰੀ, ਸੰਸਥਾਪਕ ਚੇਅਰਮੈਨ, ਕੋਚੀ ਮੂਜ਼ੀਰਿਸ ਬੀਏਨਾਲੇ, ਸੁਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਸ਼ੈੱਟੀ, ਉੱਘੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਾ ਸੰਚਾਲਕ, ਕੋਚੀ ਮੂਜ਼ੀਰਿਸ ਬੀਏਨਾਲੇ 2016 ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰੇਂਡੀਪਿਟੀ ਆਰਟਸ ਫੈਸਟੀਵਲ, ਗੋਆ 2019 ਅਤੇ ਉੱਘੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਜੀ ਆਰ ਇਰਾਨਾ ਦੇ ਪੈਨਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

ਭਾਰਤੀ ਕਲਾ ਜਗਤ ਦੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਡ-ਆਕਾਰੀ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਬਾਤ ਕਰਨੀ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾਤਰ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਤਜਰਬਾ ਸੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਵਜੀਫ਼ੇ ਲਈ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਜਾਂ ਨਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ।

ਇਹ ਵਜੀਫ਼ਾ 20 ਤੋਂ 30 ਸਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਦੇ ਉਭਰਦੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਇਕ ਲੱਖ 20 ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਰੁਪਏ ਦਾ ਇਕ ਵਜੀਫ਼ਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮਤੀ ਜ਼ੋਆ ਰੇਖੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਚਮਨ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

ਇੰਟਰਵਿਯੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਵਿਚ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਿਰਜਣਾ ਦੇ ਪੋਰਟਫੋਲੀਓ ਦੇਖਣਾ, ਅਸਲ ਕਲਾਕ੍ਰਿਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਕਲਾਤਮਕ, ਬੌਧਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਰਜਣਾਤਮਕ ਹੁਨਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝਣਾ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸੀ। ਕੁੱਲ 98 ਬਿਨੈਕਾਰਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ 28 ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੰਟਰਵਿਯੂ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ।

ਸਮਾਜ ਵਿਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਯੋਗਦਾਨ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਵਜੀਫ਼ਾ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਇਮਰੀ/ਮਿਡਲ/ਹਾਈ ਸਕੂਲਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਦੋ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਕਲਾ ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕਰਨਗੇ।

ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਜੀਫ਼ਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਸ਼ਾਹਕਾਰ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਾ ਸ਼ੇਰਗਿੱਲ, ਡਾ. ਐਮ.ਐਸ ਰੰਧਾਵਾ, ਡਾ.ਮੁਲਕ ਰਾਜ ਆਨੰਦ, ਧਨਰਾਜ ਭਗਤ, ਮਨਜੀਤ ਬਾਵਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਕਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸਕਾਰਾਂ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਖੰਨਾ, ਸਤੀਸ਼ ਗੁਜਰਾਲ, ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਬੀਐਨ ਗੋਸਵਾਮੀ, ਪਰਮਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਤੇ ਰਘੂ ਰਾਏ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉੱਪਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

ਇਸ ਵਜੀਫ਼ੇ ਦਾ ਮਕਸਦ ਖੋਜ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਆਖਣੇ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਦੀ ਤਮੰਨਾ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਵਜੀਫ਼ੇ ਡਰਾਇੰਗ, ਗ੍ਰਾਫ਼ਿਕਸ/ਪ੍ਰਿੰਟ ਮੇਕਿੰਗ, ਪੇਂਟਿੰਗ, ਸਕਪਲਚਰ, ਮਲਟੀ -ਮੀਡੀਆ, ਫੋਟੋਗ਼੍ਰਾਫ਼ੀ ਅਤੇ ਇੰਸਟਾਲੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਐਲਾਨੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ। ਚੁਣੇ ਗਏ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਉਪਰੋਕਤ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਧਾ ਦੇ ਅਭਿਆਸਕਾਰ ਹਨ।

ਇਹ ਵਜੀਫ਼ਾ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਲਿਤ ਕਲਾ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਖਿੱਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰ, ਪਾਸਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਲਈ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਉਪਰਾਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹੈ।

ਇਲਾਕੇ ਦੇ ਕਾਲਾਕਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਸਹੂਲਤਾਂ, ਮੰਚ ਅਤੇ ਮੌਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਉਪਰਾਲਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਲਲਿਤ ਕਲਾ ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਨਿਵੇਕਲੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਲਿਆ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਕਲਾ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਲੋੜੀਂਦਾ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਤਿਆਰ ਕਰਨਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਿਜਣਾਤਮਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਲੰਮੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਰੀ ਰੱਖਣ ਵਿਚ ਸਹਾਈ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਅਕਾਦਮੀ ਹਵਾ ਦਾ ਤਾਜ਼ਾ ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹਾ ਲਿਆਉਣ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਕਲਾ ਜਗਤ ਅਤੇ ਕਲਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਅਨੇਕ ਪੱਧਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੰਵਾਦ ਰਚਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨਾਲ ਕਲਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੋਚਣ, ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜਨ ਦਾ ਨਜ਼ਰੀਆ ਹੀ ਬਦਲ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।

Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi gives Scholarships to 10 young artists

Each scholarship holder would get Rs. 1,20,000/- (Rupees one lakh twenty thousand).

The Following candidates have been selected for the PLKA Scholarships for the year 2019:

Anita Kaur, Deepak Kumar, Gagan Deep Singh Sachdeva, Gurjeet Singh, Monica Sharma, Rajkamal, Raman Kumari, Shivani, Simarjeet Singh, Tarvinder Singh

They will also participate in an Artist in Residence programme during which they will be mentored by a senior artist for experimentation, dialogue, and interactions allowing for self-discovery. The program is aimed to create an immersive and intellectually stimulating environment generating a fresh perspective towards contemporary art practice. The residency will culminate in the form of Open Studios showcasing the artworks created by the Scholarship holders for public viewing.

Artists have been selected after one to one interview by internationally renowned artists Bose Krishnamachari, Founder Chairman, Kochi Muziris Biennale, Sudarshan Shetty, curator of Kochi Muziris Biennale 2016 and Curator, Visual Arts, Serendipity Arts Festival, Goa 2019, and G R Iranna another celebrated artist.

For most of the applicants interacting with these icons of Indian Art was a life time experience irrespective of the fact whether they were selected for the scholarship or not.

The scholarships are being given to budding artists, between 20 and 30 years of age.

One of the Scholarships of Rs. 1,20,000/- is sponsored by Mrs. Zoya Reikhi Sharma and Mr. Chaman Sharma.

Interview process involved going through the portfolios of the artists, looking at the original art works and knowing about the artistic, intellectual and craftsmanship skills of the artists. 28 artists from Punjab and Chandigarh were shortlisted for the interviews out of the total 98 applicants.

In order to contribute to society, the scholarship holders will conduct a two-day art workshop at a Government Primary/ Middle/ High School or in a college in their native place in Punjab.

The scholarships are being named after living and past legends from the field of art of Punjab.

The past legends in whose names the scholarships are being given are: Amrita Sher-Gil, Dr. M S Randhawa, Dr. Mulk Raj Anand, Dhanraj Bhagat and Manjit Bawa.

The living senior personalities from the field of art in whose name these scholarships are being given are: Krishen Khanna, Satish Gujral, Prof. B N Goswamy, Paramjit Singh and Raghu Rai.

The scholarships are aimed at providing talented artists a platform and to promote research and quest for individual signature in their respective fields. The scholarships were open for disciplines of drawing, graphics/ print making, painting, sculpture, multimedia, photography and installation etc. The selected artists are practitioners of either of the above given disciplines of art.

The programme is a part of Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi's continuing effort to promote, disseminate and encourage art and culture in this region.

In its efforts to provide better facilities, platform and opportunities to the artists of the region, Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi is coming up with innovative ideas that would create an amiable environment for the development of arts and help sustain creativity. The Akademi is engaging with the art fraternity and art lovers at various levels to bring about a whiff of fresh air that would change the way we perceive consume and relate to art.
