Punjab Lalit Kala Akademi declares the award winners for the Annual Art Exhibition 2019

Punjab Lalit Kala AKademi has announced the names of the Academy Award winners for its Annual Art Exhibition 2019. The two person jury consisting of internationally acclaimed artists Jagannath Panda and Anun Kumar HG,  from Delhi, recommended the names for the Academy Awards for this year’s exhibition. This is a much awaited art event of the year in the region.

In the professional section three awards of Rs. 50,000 each will be given to Charanjit Singh from Kharar for his mix-media artwork Serving Fields; Manjot Kaur from Mohali for her video installation It’s Happening While Rotating and Revolving and Tulsi Ram from Kaimbwala for his sculpture Shelter.

In the students section five Awards of Rs 25,000 each will be given to Anjali Gaur from Chandigarh, for her mix-media artwork Memory Alive, Gunda Rohith from Chandigarh for his sculpture Think Sacrifice, Ramneet Kaur from Ludhiana for her installation A World of Me, Srishti from Chandigarh for her drawing Untitled and Sun Robin from Chandigarh for his painting Ghutan.

Artists were requested to submit entries in the disciplines of painting, sculpture, graphics/print making, photography, drawing, mixed-media, installation, video installations and other related discipline.

Along with these selected artworks, the Akademi has invited senior and established artists to send their artworks so that the Annual Art Exhibition becomes truly representative of the art created in the region in recent years. —TNS
